Job Description Summary
Responsible for leading the successful delivery and evolution of the Data Management and Governance initiatives for the Finance organization, such as a data quality framework, standards for measurement, and adhering to the Enterprise Data Management Policies and Standards. Actively participate in Data Governance working groups and Data Quality forums, and work closely with other work-streams and organizations to implement the data governance framework in a consistent manner. Responsible for maintaining the data management documentation, such as data lineage, data dictionaries, data controls and data quality rules inventory.
Essential Job Functions
Lead Data Quality efforts as part of the overall data controls framework partnering with cross-functional activities across the enterprise.
Leads the expansion of the Enterprise Data Management Program through active participation in projects to implement the data management standards across Finance prioritized processes and reports.
Provides subject matter expertise within the data governance working groups, forums, and management committees.
Manages the issue management resolution process for Finance by performing root-cause analysis and partnering with others to develop solutions to remediate the issues.
Responsible for the execution and evolution of processes to maintain the data management documentation for the Finance Data Marts.
Partner with Enterprise Data Management, IT, and Lines of Business in implementing Data Governance and Data Stewardship Programs for the Finance Data Assets.
Ensures that Finance adheres to the Enterprise Data Management Standards through periodic reviews of current practices versus the current standards
Entrusted with improving and maintaining a high level of data quality
Develops metrics and reporting requirements for ongoing monitoring of the bank's data and presents them to executive management
10 -12 year of relevant experience
Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined withexperience.
- Bachelor's Degree
Strong knowledge of business data within a Retail banking organization.
Prior experience in Finance/Accounting is highly desirable, specifically as it relates to Financial, Regulatory and Credit Risk reporting.
Strong communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with people across the Enterprise as well as executive management.
Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills.
Must be able to work independently and proactively and take initiative to solve problems quickly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with thoroughness and attention to detail.
SQL skills required
Solid Microsoft Office and Sharepoint skills, including Excel, Visio, and Powerpoint, and familiar with Data Governance tools such as Collibra or Abacus highly desired.
