Job Description Summary
Use your diverse background to build full-stack superfast account opening, intuitive self-service, and world class apps.
Use your web development and cloud computing skills to design and implement web pages, RESTful APIs & micro services to automate and magically transform our customer environments into an enchanted land where everything “just works” (Angular, Spring Boot, Hazelcast, Kafka, etc.).
Design beautiful dashboards to verify our systems are healthy.
Exploit your knowledge of Databases, SQL or not, to design that near perfect data model you have been dreaming of.
Find creative ways to visualize your data models using cutting-edge front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS, Elastic Search, & Kibana.
Be the Security guru that thrives keeping the intruders at bay on our customer applications. Fortify our cloud environment and make it hacker proof.
Mine data from and build integrations with applications such as JIRA, confluence, SharePoint etc.
Essential Job Functions
Transform complex business requirements into highly scalable technical solutions.
Design and develop web pages, RESTful APIs & Micro services using spring boot, Hazelcast, Kafka and React JS.
Unit testing of applications by writing Junit / Mockito test cases and integration testing with other systems to make sure there are no defect leakage to production.
Deployment of application to application servers making sure that the security of the applications follow high security standards.
Code maintenance using GIT, branching strategies and feature branches.
Perform Code Review and Code Security Review activities before delivery in accordance with development standards and deliver Code Review Reports.
Adhere to Legal, Security and Auditing requirements.
Create and maintain Knowledge Transfer (KT) documents and a Knowledge Base of all such KT documents.
Provide support to QA teams during sprint testing and end-to-end project testing.
Create low-level design documents for the micro services and application development activities.
Analyze the defects that were identified during testing and UAT phase and assign the defects to the team members accordingly. Monitor those defect status by discussing with team and help team members to fix those defects on time.
Delivery of technical services as specified in the project plans.
Apply Best Practice for development and implementation of products and software as prioritized by Bank of the West.
Other Job Duties
Manage environments, Implement/deploy software upgrades and support post implementation.
Create Conceptual approach, Estimation, Detailed design, Software Deployment Guide, Supplemental or non-functional specifications.
Mentors Associate Engineers.
Manage tasks of a small team of engineers and their delivery.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requires 7 years prior relevant experience in application development and delivery,
Minimum of 2 years experience in Docker containers and Kubernetes management
Minimum of 5 years experience in Micro services development using Java, Spring Boot frameworks
Knowledge in Cucumber and REST Assured BDD / test automation frameworks is a plus
Previous banking / financial domain experience is a plus
