Job Description Summary

Responsible for maintaining compliance with all taxing jurisdictions by completing sales and property tax filing and reporting requirements for the bank and its Equipment Finance Servicing clients in a timely manner. Maintain proper tracking, recording and reconciliation of all tax payments. Provide research assistance as needed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Complete tax reporting requirements for all taxing jurisdictions, reconcile to system reports, and initiate payment request.

  • Maintain tax calendar and records for all tax filing jurisdictions.

  • Research and respond to tax authorities to resolve tax issues.

  • Develop and maintain audit trail and tax data reporting.

  • Handle requests from Operations and Customer Service regarding specific tax questions and provide guidance as needed.

  • Initiate ACH payment to taxing authorities.

  • Review work of outside tax preparers to ensure timely and accurate filings.

  • Support audits and work with auditors as required.

  • Provide backup support for Equipment Lease Servicing.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Requires broad knowledge of operational systems and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education.

  • Requires 5 years minimum experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting/Taxation or Finance or related experience

Skills

  • Knowledge of accounting for leases.

  • Working knowledge of sales and property taxes.

  • General knowledge of researching sales and property tax issues.

  • Use personal computer and mainframe system.

  • Excellent in Excel and proficient in Word.

  • Ability to interface with all levels, including tax auditors, tax preparers, and senior management.

  • Written and verbal communication skills.
