Job Description Summary
of the West is seeking a Senior Procurement Officer with a strong background in
sourcing and managing contracts/suppliers. The individual will support sourcing
strategies through contract negotiations, drafting and driving support of significant
reduction in the costs of goods and services year over year by mitigating risks
through negotiation terms. The ideal candidate will have
demonstrated strong partnerships with internal clients and experience in
successfully negotiating contracts with global suppliers in a range of product

Essential Job Functions
Leads complex contractnegotiations and drafting, including contracts for supplier offshoring andoutsourcing initiatives - balancing risk and rewards.
Work with peers and clients to ensure appropriatecontract approvals are obtained and documented.
Provide contract management services for strategic andmajor agreements across multiple categories.
Negotiate and resolve disputes with suppliers.
Identifies and implementssolutions to drive incremental cost reductions and cost-avoidanceopportunities for assigned contracts, suppliers, etc.
Interacts with and supportsmultiple businesses, internal and external Stakeholders, functions andSuppliers.
Effectively influences andaligns strategies and expectations and manages individual priorities givena set of performance objectives.
Provides guidance to internalbusiness clients on Procurement capabilities and processes. Works toensure team cost savings (reduction, and avoidance) goals are achieved orexceeded and ensures business control compliance.
Analyzes data and strategicopportunity leading to the identification of potential Business Partneroptimization gaps. Suggests and implements improvements/changes.
Optimizes Procurement processesto ensure Business Partners are able to make successful businessdecisions.
May lead and manage projects,promotes teamwork and communications in coordination with colleagues andBusiness Partners.
Performs other duties asassigned.
Requires deep knowledge of jobarea typically obtained through advanced education combined withexperience.
Typically viewed as aspecialist within discipline.
May have broad knowledge ofproject management.
Requires 7 years minimum priorrelevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree
Demonstrated experience independently leading contractnegotiations for and drafting of offshore/outsourced supplier agreements.
Strong knowledge of operations, technology and businessprocess offshoring activities, business process transitions, offshoringand outsourcing regulations and regulatory environment, contract structuresfor offshore services.
Proven ability in managing high-level complex suppliercontracts and partnerships.
Proven negotiation/influencing skills with seniormanagement.
Superior oral and written communication andpresentation skills.
Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectivelywith suppliers and all levels of management.
Must be an absolute self-starter, with strong projectmanagement skills, and possess the ability to effectively manage multipledemand and time resources.
