Job Description Summary

Contributes to the end to end software application including design, development, testing and deployment in a fast paced agile development environment. Participate in the POCs of new technologies and tools to meet the business needs. This role requires technology agnostic logical problem solving skills to provide business solutions using full stack application development.

Summary: Bank of the West is seeking a Kubernetes DevOps Engineer to design, code, and create infrastructure, software and systems that can be delivered with automation and intelligence. We are working on new capabilities and functionality as we reimagine the way we deliver solutions for the bank. This will be an exciting and challenging opportunity to collaborate with a great team.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Create and maintain scripts and processes that expand (IaC) Infrastructure as Code capabilities

  • Work in a scaled agile environment.

  • Build procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.

  • Modify, install, and prepare technical documentation for technical and business teams.

  • Identify, escalate and document production impact issues.

  • Evaluate user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost, time required and compatibility with current systems and capabilities.

Required Skills :

Kubernetes : Professional experience in Kubernetes and Helm Charts. Experience of design, test, and staging Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Devops : Experience with CI/CD Pipelines, Gitlab CI/CD pipelines and OCI containers.

Liferay : Knowledge of Liferay community and DXP versions would be a plus.

Server : Experience working with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Liferay, Tomcat, Nginx and Apache servers with a solid background in Linux.

Excellent writing and communication skills

Ability to visualize a proposed system and be able to build it

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field required.

  • 3 years experience as a Kubernetes/Devops Engineer

  • 3 years experience with Kubernetes

  • 1 years experience with Helm

  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.

Essential Job Functions

  • Understands end to end software development and delivery needs, from inception to production

  • Participates and performs design and peer code reviews

  • Hands-on coder who can build end-to-end software, including micro services architecture, and security and design patterns

  • Conducts technical designs reviews with internal and cross-functional teams

  • Implements new features, maintaining and refactoring existing code in order to build the new systems or enhance existing applications independently

  • Utilizes cloud computing concepts including containers management tools Docker and Kubernetes

  • Able to build responsive and ADA compliant web experience

  • Requires 3 years minimum prior relevant experience
