Job Description Summary

Responsible for performing various collection duties on consumer or mortgage accounts in various stages of risk or performance to effectively reduce delinquency, losses and increase recoveries. Areas of delinquencies are categorized as follows:

  • Installment loan accounts

  • Revolving accounts

  • Lease accounts

  • Credit card accounts

  • Overdraft / Goldlines

  • Mortgage loans Accounts and calls are moderate in nature. Performance objectives will be assigned on an individual basis regarding specific area(s) of responsibility.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Initiating outbound/Inbound calls to customers regarding outstanding balances

  2. Contacting customers to negotiate and determine reason for payment delinquency

  3. Uses various collection systems to update customers’ accounts

  4. Accurately documenting all activities in a clear and concise manner in accordance with established procedures

  5. Achieve various numeric standards and goals for servicing accounts without sacrificing quality of service while adhering to state and federal (FDCPA/FCRA) guidelines and consistently representing the company in a professional manner.

  6. Meet and exceed assigned Key Performance Indicators such as; collections goal, time on phone, talk time, quality assurance and department expectations

  7. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Requires limited job knowledge of systems and procedures.

  • Follows basic work routines and standards.

  • Does not require prior experience.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Skills

  • Good knowledge of collection policies and practices.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of Fair Debt Collection Practice Act, Collection Laws and Fair Credit Reporting Act.

  • * Bilingual is a huge plus, but not required *
