Job Description Summary

Under general direction, responsible for

evaluating and analyzing complex information to support projects and/or the

overall management of the Lease Middle Office (LMO). Develops and documents

business requirements and/or solutions and leads efforts to solve problems and

issues related to LMO operations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Researches and identifiesprocess improvement opportunities and makes recommendations to management.

  • Advises and leads in theplanning and implementation of projects and strategic initiatives for theBusiness Unit/Department.

  • Responsible for the effectivecommunication to all business partners and users to ensure criticalstrategic decisions are vetted and well thought out prior toimplementation.

  • Drives business team members todefine business needs through utilization of effective elicitationtechniques.

  • Oversees the examination ofcurrent business processes and makes recommendations for improving qualityand/or increasing efficiency within business unit operations.

  • Evaluates data gathered frommultiple sources, reconciles differences, and ensures consistentapproaches, data interpretation, and results measurements are employed.

  • Primary liaison with businesspartners, development team, and technology.

  • Acts as the "SubjectMatter Expert" (SME) and provides business knowledge as needed.

  • Uses established knowledge andexperience to mitigate risk without sacrificing quality.

  • Considers all potential riskbefore taking action and escalates issues to management as appropriate.

  • May assist LMO staff asnecessary in the preparation/review of lease packages when necessary.

  • Uses knowledge and experienceto mitigate risk and maintain quality.

  • Provides pipeline andmanagement reporting for workflow management and to evaluate resourceallocations.

  • May perform audits to ensureaccuracy of transactions and validity of risk controls.

  • Guides other staff in draftingand approving non-standard or complex language, amendments and addendums,resolves tax and documentation issues should they arise. Provides trainingto less senior team members as needed.

  • Performs other duties asassigned.

This is

the senior staff level position within Lease Middle Office organization and

requires expert level understanding of the end to end commercial lease process

and complex funding structures, as well as knowledge of department systems,

policies, procedures, and service level agreements.

  • Requires 5 years minimum priorrelevant experience.


  • Bachelor's Degree BusinessAdministration, Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience

Equipment Finance Division

  • Responsible for reviewing,approving and releasing complex disbursement fund structures to thevendors/dealers/discounters/brokers.

  • Ensure properhandling/application of sales and use tax and UCC filings.

  • Responsible for releasing thetransaction for booking to the BOW accounting system.

  • Oversees and backs up peerreview of paperwork in order to meet quick funding and booking turnaroundtime.

  • Has authority to executedocuments on behalf of Bank of the West and release contracts for bookinginto the back end system.

  • Has the ability to perform thedue diligence on the secondary markets transactions.

  • Acts as the expert on handlingand application of the sales and use tax and UCC filing.
