Job Description Summary

Primarily responsible for supporting PPNR forecasting

necessary for CCAR and DFAST regulatory work streams.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists and performs CCAR andDFAST production runs to forecast balance and non-interest income and expense,including remediation of FDIC and FRB findings.

  • Take responsibility of CCARproduction Hyperion Essbase, including Data flow processes, Business Rulescalculations, data accuracy.

  • Builds processes and toolsnecessary to support regulatory stress testing, including those for QRM dataupload to Hyperion, calculating various metrics such as CPI, Unused Commitmentetc. Ensures these processes are efficient, repeatable and error-free.

  • Validates and reconciles data invarious systems. Works with LOB partners and/or external vendors on datadefinitions; collects and validates data for modeling and benchmarkingpurposes; finds solutions to bridge potential data gaps.

  • Works with Financial Technologypartners and the Planning team to develop system solution to handle balanceroll forward and data transfer for key stake holders in the stress testingprocess.

  • Creates and polishes to perfectionpresentation materials that are used for decision making in the FinancialForecasting Group. Automates generationof materials where appropriate.

  • Conducts independent reviews (IDR)of statistical and qualitative model implementations.

  • Shepherds models through the modelvalidation process.Ensures on-timecompletions of independent reviews by interfacing with model developers, modelowners and validators to ensure on-time completion of model implementations andindependent reviews.

  • Writes technical documentation forstatistical and qualitative models, model implementations.

  • Uses statistical concepts toreview large volume of data for anomalies, and recommends remedial actions.

  • Works with LOB partners andmodelers on modeling approach, assumption; becomes SME on data and businesscharacteristics for subject portfolios and develops statistical and qualitativepredictive models to be used for CCAR Stress Testing.

  • Works with Ad-hoc request comingfrom management or LOB.

  • Other duties and projects asassigned.


Required Experience

  • Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  • May have practical knowledge of project management.

  • Requires 5 years minimum prior relevant experience.


  • Bachelor's Degree Finance, Economics, or Mathematics - Required

  • Master's Degree Finance, Economics, Mathematics - Preferred


  • Familiarity with financial modeling

  • Familiarity with GAAP and IAS/IFRS accounting rules as theyapply to Bank investment portfolios.

  • Familiarity with Bank regulatory guidelines.

  • Commercial banking experience is a plus; familiarity withcommercial banking products and processes is a plus

  • Knowledge of stress testing and regulatory requirement forbanking industry is a plus

  • Ability to understand large volumes of multi-dimensional data,and manipulate it with SQL and VBA

  • Ability to quickly process and internalize large volumes ofinformation, such as regulatory guidance documents and model documentation

  • Expert level Hyperion skills, including: knowledge of multi-dimensional data base, ability to manipulate with outline and implement calculationto increase performance, but not harm existing potential

  • Expert level Excel skills, including: expert knowledge of advanced Excel features, such as arrayformulas and multi-dimensional lookups, ability to write robust, readable and re-usable VBA code, experience tracing data lineage over multiple Excelworksheets and files and expert in Excel charting

  • Appropriate personality and character, including:

  • Ability to work well with others in a dynamic, team-orientedenvironment

  • Appreciation of a tight control process, ability andwillingness to clearly document tools, results and other products of work

  • Open mind and ability to quickly assimilate and understandunfamiliar information; and willingness to help and take assignments outside ofthe immediate area of responsibility
