Sr Lead Risk Analyst - Treasury ALM

The Treasury ALM department has an immediate opening available for

a Sr Lead Risk Analyst. Treasury ALM reports to the Bank's Asset Liability

Committee (ALCO), which determines the desired interest rate and liquidity risk

position of the Bank and establishing the guidelines to achieve that position

in given market environment.

This position is part of

the ALM Analytics team, responsible for providing analytical support for the

Bank’s asset and liability management functions, such as net interest income

(NII), economic value of equity (EVE), balance sheet gaps, and stress testing

analyses. The successful candidate will

be working closely with our partners to develop new processes and automation

solutions through the Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) software.

In

this role you will:

1.

Lead the development and delivery of

QRM solutions to help facilitate changing regulatory or internal risk

management needs

2.

Partner with other Treasury teams (Strategy,

Modeling, COO, Front Office) to plan, design, and execute on QRM-enhancement

projects

3.

Responsible for the on-going

configuration and enhancement of the QRM system to ensure all production needs

are met

4.

Provide guidance and training to

other team members over QRM capabilities and functions

5.

Validate current processes to ensure

alignment between ALM model and financial planning process

6.

Analyze financial data, summarize,

and provide a concise and meaningful narrative discussions

7.

Works with LOB partners and modelers

on fine-tuning assumptions used in the forecast model

8.

Develop tools to automate and

streamline processes utilizing strong controls and consistent design to improve

granularity, accuracy, and timeliness of analytics.

9.

Optimize the QRM software to

maximize performance and ensure adequate controls are enforced.

10.

Assist with other forecasting

production processes including Budget, Liquidity Forecasting and the Bank’s

Capital Planning Process (CCAR and DFAST)

11.

Leverage knowledge in extracting

and analyzing data through various systems including Oracle Hyperion Suite

(HFM, Essbase, and Planning), SQL, etc.

12.

Compile consolidated data and

reports for ALCO, Treasury, Reporting, FP&A, Capital Management, IHC, and BNPP

teams.

13.

Works on Ad-hoc requests from

management

Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or

Finance required

  • Master’s/Advanced Degree in

Business or Finance preferred

  • Experience with QRM, Bancware, or

other large bank asset liability systems required

  • Experience with reconciling and

analyzing large data sets via SQL preferred

  • 7 years of directly related

experience in financial institution

  • Expertise with reconciling and

analyzing large data sets

  • Advanced spreadsheet skills,

including pivot tools and chart design

  • Knowledge of economics, financial

accounting & analysis, and banking

  • Quantitative knowledge and

statistics

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint

  • Excellent communication skills,

including an ability to clearly communicate complex financial concepts

  • Highly motivated, responsible,

organized, and curious individual with uncompromising ethics and integrity

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Requires mastery level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  • May have deep knowledge of project management.

  • Requires 10 years minimum prior relevant experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Skills

  • Familiarity with model validation and governance in a Bank, Thorough understanding of Bank ALM management, including key measures used by Banks to assess interest rate and liquidity risk.

  • Knowledge of QRM, Excellent financial modeling and empirical research skills with hands-on experience in model validation/quality assurance systems.

  • Demonstrated quantitative financial knowledge in the following financial models: stochastic interest rate, prepayment, spread, default, and cash flow.

  • Ability to analyze, apply, interpret, and communicate complex technical results to non-quantitative audiences and develop presentations of all models to ensure management’s understanding of operation, purpose, and outputs of models.

  • Demonstrated project management skills to include working within short timelines and under pressure at times.
