Job Description Summary

This role reports directly to the Head of the Enterprise Portfolio Services. This role is tasked with, and accountable for, coordinating and delivering two initial cost / resource need estimates for a project investment idea/benefits case. Ensures that the proposed solution is signed off by the key stakeholders before the estimates are completed.

Essential Job Functions

SME stakeholder mapping:

  • Collects and maintains a living document of all key SMEs along with area of expertise (Business units, s, IT, Marketing, etc.)

  • Facilitates bi-monthly learning sessions for SMEs to help refine future estimation exercises

L0 and L1 Estimations:

  • Collects all data required for L0 (initial “T-shirt”) estimation from the EPS Business RM and from the businesses

  • Coordinates with all SMEs on the stakeholder map

  • Ensures that conceptual solutions and architecture are obtained and agreed to

  • Chairs regular and ad-hoc planning sessions to develop L0 and L1 estimates

  • Ensures that estimates are of the highest quality by asking informed and probing questions and by continually evaluating and improving upon the process Program oversight:

  • Provides final sign-off for L0 and L1 estimates along with business architect and head of solution delivery.

  • Participates and provides key input to L2 estimation exercises

  • Acts as go-between between IT and business during estimation conversations

Qualifications

Required Education or Equivalent Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, or Management.

  • PMP certification is a plus

Required Experience

  • 7 years business, technology and /or project management experience in a high-pace, high-volume environment

  • Demonstrable experience developing estimates

  • Excellent analytical experience

  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software

  • development and web technologies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

  • Relationship building and Stakeholder Management skills

  • Excellent computer system skills required for cost and schedule reporting

  • Financial Services industry experience is a plus

Skills

  • Recognizes project issues and concerns requiring resolution in a timely and professional manner and addresses them with management and appropriate staff members.

  • Prepares documentation defining policies to be established with management’s approval, providing supporting documentation and specifications as needed.

  • Schedules and conduct status meetings with involved staff and management, to ensure timely completion of project tasks and addressing and resolving problems that could prevent timely completion of the project.

  • Prepares, provides and communicates progress reports on project status for staff and management review.

  • Represents function as a team member on project teams lead by other departments and divisions.

  • Provides support to project team by attending project meetings, responding to assigned tasks when due and providing management with regular updates on the project’s progress.

  • Provide expertise in controls design and assessment.

  • Provides subject matter expertise in the area of risk and controls.
