Job Description Summary
Manages, leads and oversees the Wealth Management Group (WMG)'s credit team and capabilities principally surrounding WMG's custom credit capabilities, including underwriting, loan policy and supporting framework within the enterprise. Custom Credit focuses on lending needs of high net worth(HNW) and ultra-high net worth(UHNW) clientele' and is essential to success in this role. In close cooperation with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, Operations, Audit and the WMG Head of Client Solutions, establishes WMG's credit framework and manages policies, procedures & processes to insure credit portfolio quality consistent with the Bank's credit risk appetite for the business. Ensures that WMG's custom lending activities are performed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and principles. Represents the Bank as appropriate in its relationships with Group, major customers, suppliers, competitors, government agencies, professional societies and similar groups.
Essential Job Functions
Develops and implements the programs, architecture and platforms of WMG custom credit, implementing solid credit/risk practices and policies; Ensures WMG actively manages risk in a rapid growth environment.
Drives focused strategy, across multiple bank disciplines, to deliver appropriate credit solutions for WMG clients (regular interaction with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operational Risk, RBG/CRES/WMCS, etc.).
Works in partnership with the Key Client Group (KCG) to navigate complex credit transactions by developing and creating intelligent solutions to meet client needs that further enhance overall bank relationship; Implements a framework to grow and expand the business through interaction with LOB’s and support functions, ensuring sound underwriting practices, competitive pricing and adherence to service level agreements to achieve customer expectations and satisfaction; Coordinates lending practices with BNPP Group best practices and standards. Builds process and support structure to serve the business.
Manages the custom credit offering, including business strategy, product development, credit training and loan pricing; Collaborates and supports the product owners of the WMG Investment Line of Credit (ILOC) and Consumer Real Estate Products within the framework of the WMG lending delegation; Responsible for ongoing portfolio risk analysis & reporting, the development and use of tools and methodologies, and providing hands-on leadership on special projects/initiatives relative to the lending needs of WMG HNW/UHNW clientele’; Manages Custom Credit solutions within the defined Risk/Compliance framework.
Directs efforts of team that underwrites/recommends larger, more complex loan offerings, including Custom Credit, based on loan size or aggregate debt to bank, per Bank policies.Creates, updates and modifies bank Loan Policies specific to WMG. Directly responsible for Wealth Management Custom Credit products/solutions, including pricing. Develops, installs and executes policies, procedures and processes to support the unique borrowing needs of WMG clients. Recommends credit transactions, on behalf of WMG, for approval 2nd line Risk units. For highly complex and sophisticated credits, may directly analyze pertinent financial and credit data and provide loan structuring guidance. Ensures quality control and risk management of relationships managed. Identifies, classifies, and monitors problems or potential problem loans in compliance with the internal credit review policy. Manages, tracks and monitors receipt of financial reporting and covenant compliance certificates.
Drives WMG credit portfolio growth and profitability through appropriate product and pricing structures and initiatives. Gathers market intelligence so that market opportunities may be capitalized on as they occur and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
Works closely with Wealth Management to integrate efforts to fulfill cross-business mission statement and value proposition.
Responsible for the recruitment, development, coaching, counseling, discipline, writing and administering of performance reviews in a timely manner and retention of assigned team members.

Bachelor's Degree Finance or related Quantitative Field
High School Diploma or GED Required
- M5 - 12 - 15 yrs 15 years or more of credit and/or lending experience with a major commercial bank or financial services institution. Requires significant experience with UHNW Lending/Custom Credit
