Job Description Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Lead UX Product Designer with vast experience in visual design to join the UX team at Bank of the West. The ideal candidate will absorb UX's design systems and translate them into pixel-perfect visual design experiences for our public and authenticated websites and mobile applications. The job requires very close collaboration with other UX team members and business partners within BOTW Digital Channels Group and other BOTW line of business. Conceptual work and prototyping will be required from time to time, so being in tune with current trends of design and esthetics is expected.
Deliver superior, industry-leading UX design for specific projects and initiatives following user-centered design practices, with specific attention to visual design, although interactive design could come into play
Collaborate with other UX design leads, designers and producers
Communicate clearly and often with project managers and business owners, as needed
Ability to lead projects from start to finish, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, business owners, and internal/external technology partners
Work with other UX designers to create consistent digital experiences for our products and services
Properly document and socialize conceptual and final visual design
Work closely with developing engineers to continually refine our UX design systems
Support multiple projects at a time
Style guide and spec documentation work and asset production
Skills & Experience
Minimum 6-year experience as UX product designer with emphasis on visual design
Mobile-first design experience required
UX design experience in the financial services industry a plus
Excellent communication skills
Ability to deliver visual designs, concepts, UI components and specs quickly
Demonstrated ability to articulate a vision for design and deliver on it
Expertise in Adobe CC software and Sketch and other industry-standard software
Ability to create simple prototypes
Experience in Agile methodology required
Familiarity with current trends of code and IT development
Online portfolio required
On-location job in San Francisco's financial district
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interface, or related field.
