Job Description Summary
Responsible for managing key strategic vendor relationships that drives a best-in-class vendor management strategy and program for the Bank. Responsible for managing the relationship between key strategic technology vendors and business partners, understanding the complete breadth of professional services provided by vendors and current support services for relevant business unit. Understands the types of services being provided to BOW, oversee work product of each vendor account, including projects, project cost, SOW management, SLAs, executive reporting and serve as an escalation point for BOW and vendors. Partners with key stakeholders across the bank to ensure that financial, performance and risk and compliance requirements are being met.
Essential Job Functions
Manage key vendor relationships through their lifecycle to
Implement and execute a management program scalable to support vendors managed by leaders in BOW business units.
Manage supplier performance to ensure contract requirements compliance.
Assist in proactively driving process and improvements that will result in cost reduction, productivity, and service level enhancements.
Work with Procurement, Enterprise Information Security, Audit, Risk & Compliance, Legal and Finance to address liability, financial & operational risk that tie to related issues.
Ensure timely resolution of issues related to vendor performance.
Communicate with all levels of management inside and outside the company.
Implement an aggressive Vendor Management Program that includes vendor metrics, KPI reporting and analysis, scorecards and formal business reviews.
Other Job Duties
Ensure service levels are maintained, schedules are met and formal reporting and invoicing are timely and accurate.
Maintain relationships with internal departments to maintain policies and practices.
Build and support business case for new services and renewal of existing services with cost-benefit analysis to recommend best value for Bank of the West.
Strong organizational skills, solid communication skills and vendor management experience
Ensuring ODC standards are being met up for offshore vendors (InfoSys, CapGemini, etc), including reporting and tracking of remote offshore vendors
Ensuring standards and governance with offshore vendors are met
Requires mastery level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
May have deep knowledge of project management.
Requires 10 years minimum prior relevant experience.
Experience with national/multi-national vendors and vendor management practices.
Excellent analytical, financial, vendor management and communication skills.
Experience managing technology contracts; hardware, software, data & voice networks, and services preferred.
Previous responsibilities managing $25 million spend Demonstrated a successful track record of negotiating complex contracts and managing vendors.
A detail-oriented individual with excellent negotiation skills Experience working in a financial services company strongly preferred.
Candidate must be able to work effectively with outside vendors, internal legal and finance teams, technology team and lines of business Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience leading cross-functional projects.
Proactive attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves to meet the business requirements.
Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
Good organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills are required.
The ability to manage multiple projects and maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency in Microsoft products including Office, Word, Excel, VISIO and PowerPoint.
Candidate must be able to work well under pressure and within short time constraints.
Ability to take ownership while coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
