Job Description Summary

Responsible for implementing information security and data loss prevention solutions. Supports the business, security, and technical staff by assisting with the deployment of security controls and processes. Maintains and supports security tools. Escalates security incidents in order for appropriate action to be taken. Delivers timely and high quality work products to meet client's expectations. Defines, analyzes, evaluates, and facilitates the implementation of security solutions to meet business needs. Reviews, monitors, recommends and reports enhancement opportunities to meet bank and industry policies, standards, and guidance. Mentors Junior Engineers and assists them in developing greater knowledge in the toolsets.

Essential Job Functions

  • End-to-end responsibility for designing and implementing modern, dynamic solutions for our various internal customers.

  • Supports customer efforts by collecting requirements, then proceed to design and implementation phases.

  • Ensures systems specifications, security controls and appropriate logging and monitoring align with business needs.

  • Communicates and coordinates with technology and business functional groups to specify hardware, software and network connectivity for production and test environments.

  • Provides senior level support on tools and processes.

  • Reviews, drafts, and outlines processes related to tools under their management.

  • Ability to lead cybersecurity implementation projects to completion.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Requires 7 years minimum prior relevant experience with a Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • May have broad knowledge of project management.

  • Experience in a US regulated industry highly desirable; financial services preferred.

  • Possess infrastructure and application support experience and broad understanding of all security domains.

  • Have technical knowledge of the latest Microsoft and Red Hat operating systems.

  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, information security tool deployment and operations.

  • Requires deep knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Typically viewed as a specialist within discipline.

  • Must be able to demonstrate experience specifically in the deployment and configuration of Data Loss Prevention systems at a large scale within an enterprise.

  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills, as well as written and verbal communication.

  • Knowledge of Information Security tool deployment and operations, as well as vulnerability management, application and system configuration hardening.

  • Ability to assist in the evaluation of security solutions to meet business needs for potential and existing products. Ability to conduct ROI and gap analysis for potential and existing products.

  • Defines, analyzes, evaluates, and leads the implementation of security solutions to meet business needs.

  • Assists the business, Security Architecture and technical subject matter experts to deploy security controls and processes.

  • Recommends and implements enhancement opportunities to meet bank and industry policies, standards, and guidance.

  • Mentors Junior Engineers and assists them in developing greater knowledge in the toolsets.

  • Splunk development experience (preferred) to build reports and dashboards for diverse internal groups.

Skills

  • 3-5 years of preferred security experience (experience in and understanding of all security domains.

  • Experience in a regulated industry highly desirable; financial services preferred.

  • Knowledge of Information Security Tool deployment and operations,

  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture.

  • Ability to lead operational projects to completion.

  • Ability to conduct ROI and gap analysis for potential and existing products.

  • Ability to work with little guidance.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Cybersecurity Engineer- Forensics.

  • Responsible for and/or managing the identification, collection, and analysis of electronic data, with the goal of preserving any evidence in its most original form while performing a structured investigation that is legally defensible.

  • In concert with the banks HR, Legal, Corporate Security and Information Security Departments.

  • Performs or has oversight of eDiscovery tasks as required in support of requests from Legal and HR in the support of litigation for and against the Bank.

  • Conducts examination of logs, hard drives, network traffic, and other data to support targeted investigations.

  • Mentors Cybersecurity Engineers and assists them with developing knowledge in digital forensic investigations.

  • Cybersecurity Engineer- EVC (Event Center).

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining security solutions within the Information Security Group.

  • Partners with Security Architecture on deploying security controls and processes for said controls.

  • Maintains systems through their lifecycle as the primary operations engineer.

  • Solutions must conform to regulatory obligations, Bank of the West security policy and Enterprise Information Security (EIS) security standards.

  • Provides process oversight and review for operational Security tools.

  • Delivers timely and high quality work products to meet client’s expectations.

  • Defines, analyzes, evaluates, and facilitates the implementation of security solutions to meet business needs.

  • Reviews, monitors, recommends and reports enhancement opportunities to meet bank and industry policies, standards, and guidance.

  • Mentors Junior Engineers and assists them in developing greater knowledge in the toolsets.

  • Cybersecurity Engineer -Business Consultants Responsible for advising and guiding the business in the evaluation, definition and implementation of the Bank’s security solutions.

  • Provides project leadership on security-related items; recommends enhanced technical measures to protect bank resources and business electronic information, and provides the business with support on requirements requiring implementation of enterprise security policies, applications, networks, client and server systems, personnel and other risk mitigation mechanisms.

  • Partners, communicates and consults with business and key stakeholders to relay technical security concepts in a clear and concise manner.

  • Delivers timely, high quality work products to meet client’s expectations.

  • Defines, analyzes, evaluates, and leads the implementation of security solutions to meet business needs.

  • Reviews, monitors, recommends and reports enhancement opportunities to meet bank and industry policies, standards, and guidance.
