Job Description Summary
Principal of CLAAS Financial Services, LLC., serves in managing the success and development of a Joint-venture Finance Company between CLAAS of America and Bank of the West. The position will be responsible for the integration of Retail Finance activities into the sales & marketing process of CLAAS Sales Company. This position will manage the activity of the CFS LLC entity, its integration and development as well as to ensure the implementation of the global strategy directed by the Board of Directors with the objective of supporting CLAAS of America (COA) and CLAAS Financial Services LLC (CFS) growth and profitability.
Essential Job Functions
Staff Management: Direct management of CFS dedicated staff through the current structure:
Sales (field & Inside Sales), marketing and training activity/structure, to support the achievement of the goal and budgets assigned by the CFS LLC Board.
Develop new/enhanced product and services (Leasing, rental, out of season) including any services added to these products such as insurances and full-maintenance
This includes also the regular activity management, as but not limited to: recruitment, regular reviews and guidance, HR administration (validation of expenses and holidays…), propose annual target set up and appraisal and annual salary review conjointly with the Managing Director (MD).
Manage directly: Dedicated relationship with:
COA (management-sales-marketing-finance) regarding marketing plan, campaigns and performance, new/end enhanced product and services, through monthly operational meeting
Bank of the West (BOW) (management, middle & back-office heads)
CLAAS top Dealers and top end Customers.
Budget Process which includes to:
Lead the annual budget review (New Business Activity Portfolio P&L and key figures, dedicated headcount Bonus Incentives Treasury booking methods Subsidy..),
Drive the Forecast process with COA and BOW
Ensure achievement and follow up of the approved budget by CFS LLC board of Directors (including proposals for actions when budget deviations occur) as well as the evolution of the strategy.
CFS Sales activity and CFS Regional Sales team which includes to:
Disseminating to CFS Regional Sales Manager (RSM) the knowledge of the scope of CFS business and services as well as the proper relationship with Dealer and Dealer staff, end Customers and COA field counterpart
Regular CFS Regional Finance Manager (RFM) team meeting and individual reviews
Deliver CFS LLC services of COA Dealers, end Customers on sales activities including the escalation of risk decisions under conditions and refusals which could result to a commercial issue for Dealers or COA.
Enhance, follow up and communicate local competitive analysis and benchmark (Bank & Finance companies, captives on their conditions & services)
The compliance and enforcement of the Cooperation Agreement and Services Mandate
The follow up of credit policies and marketing guidelines
Propose organize and drive Sales & Marketing activities. Which includes to:
Develop Sales strategies, Marketing plans and Retail Finance campaigns in cooperation with COA (incl. internal terms & conditions of financial product – gross lending rate within the budget- advertising & communication for field deployment),
Develop new/enhanced product and services
Initiate training strategy and programs,
Initiate processes revision within IT tools/Digitalization development,
Develop additional revenue options and implement plan if needed.
The Business activity on a monthly basis
Deviations that occur vs the budget and the suggested counteractions on a monthly basis or ad hoc & amendment of forecasts,
new or any changes to treasury management such as forward buying,
the choice of recruitment of candidates for the approved heads of CFS dedicated staff,
Specific support and guidance needed in order to execute the mission of the CFS Country Manager.
and propose the regular Board Meeting & ensure the action plan follow up and minutes issuance,
and monitor the implementation of the decisions, action plans, analysis decided by CFS LLC board,
and propose further meetings and workshops necessary to enhance the activity development.
Other Job Duties
Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree required
Requires a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in captive/joint venture environment, running and growing Retail Finance operations in a vendor environment (including Sales and marketing activities as well as processes for front and back office management) within the Agri. Business as 1st choice and/or with Construction equipment.
Ability operating successfully in a matrixed environment within international Retail Finance
Project management skills, which include strong project economic analysis
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence
Ability to handle high stress situations
Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
